I have stories to tell, but not enough time to write.  I’ll stick with the facts in this quick report and file more details when the good fishing slows down.

Fact 1:  It’s been a May to remember for casting around Kent Island – the best out of the last four.

Fact 2:  Jigging over hard, live bottoms in depths of 16-25 feet have been producing consistent 30″ + fish on the Bay side of the Island.

Fact 3:  Jigging beneath menhaden schools in narrow deep channels is turning up mid-30s stripers in Eastern Bay.

Fact 4:  Tossing top-water plugs around rocks and over shallow cover where there is good current is hot hot hot!

Fact 5:  Big fish are running in tight schools and breaking beneath birds from the mouth of Eastern Bay down past the Gas Docks.

Fact 6:  With a full moon and an outgoing tide, fish are biting at night and can be caught with both jigs or top-water.

Long story short, it’s been great to feel like I can run in any direction and have a reasonable chance at respectable fish.  Here are some of my favorite shots of fish caught off Thunder Road in the past two weeks.  They’re out there, go get ’em!

Way to get after them Cory. It was great seeing you out there with the old Man.
I kind of like the new “short and sweet” format. Especially when the fishing is so good that there isn’t enough time for anything else.

    Shawn,
Like Phill said this May was one of the best we have ever had. It was good seeing you, Rick and Cory out there this weekend. Phill and I had 2 days of outstanding fishing but Sunday was a different story but we had fun. Hope to see you out there this coming weekend…
